Caine stepped into the ring, his hood still covering most of his face. A coldness had set around Caine. This always had happened to him before a fight or a mission; which was good/convenient because Caine liked the low-temperature.
Meanwhile, Camille made her way towards the battleground and hopped into the ring. Fighting was always more of a sport to Camille, she just enjoyed it more than the average person. “I’m ready when you are!” Camille called out. When Caine heard this he jolted his head up, so that his hood would move back to its original position. As Camille locked eyes with Caine, she began to shake as if a cold twinge had suddenly pierced her body. Camille quickly closed her eyes, shook it off, and took out her long bow. Caine merely gazed over at his opponent,
“I’m ready.” |

"Hope you won't hate me once I kick your butt!" She said, closing one of her eyes playfully. She nocked an arrow while taking a step back towards the edge of the ring. She pulled back on the bowstring and let it snap back, firing a arrow directly at Caine. He dodged it, she smirked, she had expected that. Now that she had a feel of Caine's dodging techniques, she nocked three arrows in a flash and held her bow sideways so the arrows would fire in a horizontal line. She released her bowstring and the arrows shot towards the white-eyed assassin like blurs. He couldn't jump over the arrows, they were too high, but if he ducked, Camille was sure she would be able to charge him with a sword attack if the arrows didn't hit. I just hope I'm fast enough to get to Caine before he recovers, She thought running towards him after her arrows, quickly slinging her bow and taking out her short sword. |

“Like that’ll happen,” Caine replied, easily dodging the first incoming arrow. As Camille turned her bow sideways, Caine raised an eyebrow. Eh!? She quickly aimed and released three arrows at him. Caine had to react fast. I need to duck!…but she must be expecting that..
Caine took out one of his throwing knives and held it at his side as he ducked and rolled to his left. He recovered quickly and threw the knife he was just holding straight at his incoming opponent. As the knife soared through the air at Camille, Caine whipped out two long daggers and followed after it. He kept a low-center of gravity as he sprinted towards his opponent, planning to strike right after she had either blocked or dodged his incoming projectile. |

Eep! What is he doing?! Her eyes widened as she saw him throw a projectile of his own. She quickly bounced to the right, to dodge the knife and continued to run. She made a wide kind of circle around Caine, keeping her distance again. Jeez, what should I do? He's two swords, I don't know how I would approach that...hmm...Well I guess, I'll never know until I try! She stopped running around Caine and faced him, she held her sword in front of her, slightly tilted so it protected her whole front from vertical slices. When she was close enough, she brought the sword up, intending to slash his right side. |

Feh she’s defending pretty well, I’ll have to wait till she strikes to make an opening. Caine turned his head to his right-side, his eyes folowing the right-sided attack of Camille. He then quickly turned the long dagger (that he held in his right hand) so it was in a vertical direction, in order to block the on-coming slash. As the opposing blade made contact, he crouched and slid his right blade under it (for a split second) and bumped it up so that the short sword’s slash went harmlessly above his head. His eyes returned to Camille. Good thing I’m stronger than her, now there’s an opening. He then took his left handed dagger and made an upward slash at Camille. She couldn’t block it, so the only way she could avoid it was to pull her head back and step backwards. If she did this, Caine would jump forward and tackle her with his left shoulder. |

"Whoa!" Camille quickly jerked back to avoid having herself sliced in two. She stepped back quickly and found her stance, getting her sword ready for another attack from Caine, but she almost double-took when she saw Caine heading straight towards her. He rammed into her with his shoulder and knocked her back. She winced, but she wouldn't give up. She fought against Caine so she wouldn't fall to the ground, and grabbed his robe with her left hand and steered him off of her so he would stumble off to her left. Uwagh, already Millie! Think of a strategy! She coached herself, now that she was away from Caine. She hopped away from Caine and slipped her sword away, swinging around her bow once more. She shot two arrows at him, hoping they would hit. Maybe I should just keep using arrows until one hits him! After all! I'm a master archer! She thought cheerily. |

Caine stumbled off to his right and turned his head back to see Camille taking out her bow once more. Here we go again… In one swift motion, Camille shot two arrows at Caine. He quickly pivoted his body, so that his back was no longer facing his opponent and assumed a defensive position. But he was too late. The arrows came faster than Caine had expected, and they were aimed at both sides of his body, making it difficult to dodge. If he tried to evade to the left or right, then he would definitely get hit by one of the arrows. On the other hand, if he stayed in the current position, then both his arms would get pierced.
The obvious solution was to turn his body sideways and barely avoid both arrows; but Caine could see Camille already pulling out a couple more arrows. No, I need to disrupt her string of attacks now. Caine immediately dropped the two blades he had been holding, lifted his right knee, and pushed off the ball of his left foot in an attempt to gather a bit more time (by leaning back) before the arrows hit. He then sucked in his gut and crossed/tucked in his arms, each hand seizing a throwing knife that had been holstered at his waist. The arrows brushed by him; leaving a gash in the middle of both his left and right upper arms. As the arrows passed by him, Caine threw one knife directly at Camille, and the other where he predicted she would move.
Without wasting time, Caine quickly picked up the two blades he had dropped to the ground earlier and returned them to their sheaths. The snowy assassin jumped back and withdrawed to his thoughts. What to do, what to do….hmmm…this would be a lot easier if she wasn’t so experienced with the bow…I need get back into close combat again. As Caine hit the ground, he felt a dry sand-like substance beneath his feet. He dropped his head to find that he had landed in a large patch of dry dirt. A small grin of satisfaction started to spread across his face and his icy eyes started to glow. Aha, time to close the distance… |

Seeing the first knife being thrown at her, Camille side stepped over to her left and felt very fortunate that she did because she saw that he had thrown another knife a little further right from the previous knife thrown. The location where she would have been at had she moved there. She could only imagine how troublesome the situation would have been for her if she had gone that way.
Seeing that Caine hadn’t quite moved from the spot where he had landed, she backed up a little more and readied another arrow. Keeping note of the number of arrows she had left seeing as she was soon going to run low.
Right when she saw him look down at the ground was when she decided would be the perfect time to attack. She adjusted her bow and quickly let off the arrow. Not wanting a repeat of earlier when she tried to attack him close up, she decided to stay back and prepare another arrow for when he'd notice and dodge that one. |

Caine (on instinct) immediately rolled to his right and pulled out another throwing knife almost instantly upon gaining his footing. He held the knife in front of his face and returned his eyes to Camille who was already ready to release another arrow. The second knife didn’t hit, but served its purpose as a distraction…hmm. Caine leapt to his left and only just avoided the second arrow. I can’t keep this up forever, *licks left index finger and sticks it up into the air*, just a bit longer…
Caine picked up speed; it was common sense that it was harder to hit a faster moving target. He then proceeded to unleashing a barrage of throwing knives upon his opponent, waiting for the opportune moment to enact his strategy. |

Now! The white-eyed assassin turned into a blur and suddenly appeared over the area of aridness while Camille was still recovering from his previous attacks. As Caine impacted into the dry-like substance a powdery cloud shot up and rapidly disseminated into mist. Using this shroud as an advantage, Caine quickly disappeared from sight. The air was just still enough that it could hold the mist (so that it didn’t blow away) and yet, just breezy enough to spread the powdery substance around his now perplexed opponent.
It was obvious that Camille’s vision was obscured because the archer was now cautiously moving backwards and looking side to side. Caine stilled his breath and took out his blades once more. Ahh, an assassin always works better in the shadows. Meanwhile, Camille continued to shoot arrows at obscured blurs she thought was Caine. The cold tactical assassin now knew Camille’s movements, and while she was off guard, he quickly positioned himself behind her. Before his opponent became aware of his existence, Caine (in one fast movement) slid his right long dagger underneath her right shoulder blade and his left long dagger next to her neck. The air cooled and Caine's cold white eyes fixated on his target.
“You lose.” |
